The International Tin Association (formerly International Tin Research Institute) has coordinated the International Tinplate Conference since it first took place in London in 1976.  Since that time the event has been held every four years and has become one of the most respected tinplate industry events. Previous host cities include Amsterdam, Paris, Istanbul and Barcelona with over 100 delegates attending the 2016 conference in London.

The event attracts those interested in understanding the key commercial, technical and sustainable tinplate developments and provides opportunities to network with delegates from across the global tinplate supply chain, including traders, analysts, tinplate producers, can makers, lacquer suppliers, equipment and electrolyte suppliers,.
